Patients as Partners Demonstrate Growing Interest in People-Powered Health Movement

November 29, 2018

On November 22, 2018 in Namur, Belgium, a total of 50 people, including 24 attendees who connected via Zoom, including health care and quality leaders attended an interactive learning session co-facilitated by Health Care Advisor, Adam Mongodin and PAQS Quality Manager, Laure Istas and supported by Operations Manager, Annick Tessier. The session focused on 4 innovative methodologies to engage patients as partners and was explained by 4 different Belgium organizations. Partnering with patients shows respect, ensures their insights and experience are valued and empowers them to take an active role in their care.

Mr. Mongolin noted that, “the increasing interest in this topic demonstrates the importance of our People-Powered health movement and the critical valuable role that patients as partners play in optimizing safety of care.” In addition, online participants from Centre Hospitalier Jolimont said, “there are several ways to engage patients, and the discussions provided several realistic potential solutions for the future.”

The recorded session will soon be available on your portal. If you require additional information on the People-Powered movement, please contact Adam Mongodin, Health Care advisor.
